How To Find The Perfect Foundation Shade Online – It seems like most foundation and concealer releases in recent years have been made online before they hit stores. I wish it was possible to see every shade in real life before you order, but when you can’t, here’s my exact method for ordering the perfect color or foundation and concealer online.
Before reading this post, I highly recommend that you know your skin tone. This blog post + video describes how to find your bottom line. This is how I color match all my clients in 60 seconds or less and it works every time.

Each skin color and background is so unique! So these are general examples of more common shades based on skin tone.
How To Choose Your Concealer Shade Online
Most stores (Ulta/Sephora) and brand websites (Nars/Milani) now offer shade and shade descriptions on the website. This is HUGE and one of the main resources I use to find the right shade of product. I always go through the skin tone and undertone descriptions to find my match.
Based on my skin tone and undertone, I look for products labeled as light, with peachy undertones.
If this skin tone and background information is not listed on the website, I always message the brand on Instagram or through customer service.
I will often give myself a fake tan, or clients will have a spray tan and their body will be a little lighter than their face. We also tend to exfoliate our face more than our body and use more sunscreen on our face so it stays lighter than our body.

Always make sure your base is the same color as your chest and neck area. Try some foundation there and if it fits perfectly, you have a combination.
Most tanners will add a yellow or olive undertone to your skin, so you
You’ll need to adjust your foundation to match these shades if you’re going for a very, very dark self-tanner.
Still not sure? Go with a brand that nails its nuances. There are some brands that have accurate and true shades.
Apps That Will Help You Find Your Perfect Foundation Shade Online
KGD | Although Koh Gen Do offers fewer shades, its shades and undertones are SO accurate and reflect true skin tones. These are not just washed out shadows, they are very carefully designed.
I find that I almost exclusively use KGD in my makeup artist kit because it’s so easy to match people from light to deep skin tone categories. Every client, of every skin tone and matte, takes a photo of the amount of foundation I used on them after the foundation was done. This is how their shades match exactly.
ARMANI | Armani is great because they offer a peachy undertone, so it really is a perfect match for me. They also have great olive undertones, so for people struggling to find good peach, olive or red undertones, Armani does it just right.
NARS | I love the NARS Cosmetics range. They have a full range of skin tones and shades and a formula for every skin type: dry, oily, etc. This year I’ve been using the Radiant Longer formula on days when I want full coverage.

MILANIS | Milani has such a great selection of foundation and undertone skin tones offerings. I am so impressed with their whole brand, it really lives up to the performance of the luxury brand.
The 2+1 foundation can be a little heavy, so I advise you to use a pump with very well moisturized skin and a primer. I love their Prime Light primer underneath, it really is a beautiful combination.
L’OREAL | I loved the new foundation L’oreal Infallible Fresh Wear. It looks so beautiful on the skin and blends well with the level of coverage I want that day.
It has become my go-to errand or quick make-up for dinner. I advise to use it with a primer otherwise my skin may sting a bit while wearing this, I have sensitive skin.
How To Find The Perfect Concealer Or Foundation Shade
To be honest, the shades of L’oreal Fresh Wear foundation confused me because it was hard to find information. I did some digging using their foundation color comparison on their website (match your old brand and foundation shade to theirs).
Based on this, I have created the following chart, to make it a little easier. I spent many hours doing this, ha!
The internet can be very helpful when trying to find the right shade of foundation! That’s what I do when I order a foundation I’ve never tried before.
This will take you to all the pictures and you can start to see how the shadows look on real people.
How To Find Foundation For Your Skin Tone
Tests are usually performed on the arm. I prefer the face and jaw so you can really see what the shades look like, but I’ll take what I can get, especially if it’s a newer release.
Step 3 | Once you have a general idea of what shade you might be, enter the product name and specific shade, then click back to the image results page.
For example: “Armani Luminous Silk foundation shade 4.25”. You’ll have a better idea of whether this might be your shade when you see someone with a color similar to yours.
Step 4 | For newer foundation releases, swatches may not be online yet, so I recommend checking out Instagram. The brand page usually wants swatches and @trendmood1 always reposts what he can find for swatches very quickly. His account has a huge following and he’s a really good person!

Makeup artists are trained to detect subtle variations in skin tone to choose the right foundation for you. Unfortunately, most of us don’t have a makeup artist in our back pocket and have to choose the right foundation shade for ourselves. The task of choosing the right foundation can seem even more complex online. The same base tone may look different on each device’s screen. The way it’s photographed can also make bases look different on your device than they do in person. That’s why Juvia’s Place has created a simple and easy foundation shade finder to help women of all skin tones identify the perfect full coverage foundation. Juvia’s Place offers 42 unique skin foundation combinations to help every woman find the perfect full coverage foundation.
Never Buy The Wrong Shade Of Foundation Again Using This Website
Each skin tone is unique and beautiful, subtle and complex and often varies from neck to cheek. Choosing the right foundation for your skin tone online can seem daunting, but it’s actually very easy and just requires a little self-examination of the unique color that your epidermis, or outermost layer, expresses.
Before using Juvia’s Place Foundation Shadow Finder, you should first research your background. Your foundation is actually the key to buying the right shade of foundation for your skin tone. Skin color is usually divided into “cool”, “warm” and “neutral”. In Juvia’s Place, we’ve added an additional undertone category: “olive”. These terms represent the colors that pass through your skin and affect the tone or overall appearance of your skin. And these shades can be presented in all skin tones, from the darkest to the lightest. “Cool” shades have bluish or pink undertones. “Warm” tones give the skin a yellow, peachy or golden appearance. Skin affected by an “olive” matte will have green or gray undertones, but they can also lean “cool” or “neutral.” “Neutral” does not give clear shades, but the skin’s natural color is more obvious.
Tuning your bottom can be achieved in a number of ways. In reality, you want to look at an area of the skin that is least exposed to the sun and therefore likely not to have been damaged by the sun. The inside of the arm is one of the areas where it is often easier to see the bottom of the skin. You can also take a look at your veins.
Does your skin look a little bluish or purple? If so, your bass tone is probably “cool”. Those with “greenish” veins are likely to have a “warm” tone. “Olive” tones may show greenish or bluish veins, but may also be difficult to discern, as with
